
Class 2012 students GE Hanjie, Panting and other 8 students from the School of Literature and Journalism have successfully completed one-month centralized training of Chinese teaching volunteers held by the National Han Affairs Office Ten volunteers have arrived smoothly in Thailand on May 16, where they will teach Chinese for a year.
Chinese Teacher Volunteer Program, which has been implemented since 2004,is a special volunteer service program established in China to help the world solve the shortage of Chinese teachers.
The selection of volunteers is organized by the National Han Affairs Office. The selection examination includes three parts: comprehensive competence interview (including teaching ability, adaptability, Chinese talent, etc.), foreign language interview, and psychological test. About 5000 people sign up each year. After the volunteer selection examination, they also need to pass the training to get the qualification .
The School of Literature and Journalism has attached great importance to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language since it started its major in Chinese International Education. The Chinese and International Chinese Language Teaching and Research Office follows closely the situation of international Chinese education and constantly adjusts its talent training programs and the teaching plan according to the students' learning situation in time to improve the students' Chinese teaching skills and level effectively.
