On the afternoon of April 6th, international well-known scholar, Henk J.van Zuylen, who is from Technische Universiteit Delft in Holland, were invited to hold an academic lecture entitled "development and planning of bicycle traffic in Holland" in the report hall of the Designing Building.
The lecture was conducted by Professor Zhang Guowu, vice president of Architecture and City Designing Institute, with Dr. Li Jie of Hunan University as the interpreter.The Faculty of Yiyang City Designing Institute, the leaders of the Yiyang Urban Planning Bureau, and the teachers and students of Architecture and City Designing Institute attended the lecture.
Bicycle trip is considered as a green, environmentally-friendly and healthy way by the whole world. Holland is the country with the largest per capita number of bicycles in the world. Henk J.van Zuylen introduced the historical evolution , the management and maintenance of bicycle share traffic, and the development of urban bicycle traffic facilities. Take the specific city as a case, he analyzed Holland's various activities to encourage bicycle travel. Henk J.van Zuylen also pointed out the problems and shortcomings of the development of bicycle traffic in Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha and other cities in China, then put forward some good suggestions.
The lecture is full of lively atmosphere, Henk J.van Zuylen interacted with teachers and students many times, and made detailed answers and comments on the questions raised by the teachers and students.
