According to the newly released Notice No. 4 [2018] on Higher Education Undergraduate Professional Filing and Approval Results in 2017 by MOE, two new undergraduate specialties are approved for enrollment: Primary Education (Pedagogy) and Electrical Engineering and Automation Engineering (Engineering).
HNCU has been endeavoring to construct a distinctive high-level application-oriented university, reform personnel cultivating mode, innovate development ability system and optimize specialty structures. HNCU took the initiative to quit recruiting five less promising specialties in admission and employment and applied for two new ones last year to make the major setup be closely related to the development of local economy. Up till now, there are altogether 51 undergraduate specialties. Based on Engineering, HNCU has constructed coordinating specialty layout covering economics, management, art, humanities, science, pedagogy and agronomy. HNCU is to strengthen the construction of application-oriented specialty system, boost the connotative development of majors and build distinctive grouped specialties with high quality in the view of the requirements of profession, enterprises and local economy. Top priorities will be given to the transformation cultivation and cultivating mode of application-oriented talents.
